Richmond IONS February 2021 Meeting

“How to Give Up the Need to Be Right and Get What You Want.”

Our February 20, 2021 program will feature a talk by Vickie Griffith, Florida-based author and hypnotherapist, about her latest book,
entitled You Can Be Right About Everything and Still Have Nothing.

You are doing all the right things to grow your life, yet it still feels stagnant. Your family is unattached or bickering with each other. Your boss is getting on your last nerve and it is getting harder to enjoy your work. You have gone to seminars, read the latest spiritual or self -help book, but you are still stuck.

Same people, same office, same issues every day. Nothing seems to go right for you. You wake up in the middle of the night worried about money, your children, your health. You are plain tired out, worried, stressed and anxious.

It is not for lack of knowing what to do. You are a smart person. It is not for lack of working hard. You work hard. The truth is the self-help industry has you confused. Do you work a bit harder or stop working so hard? Do you seek outside advice or listen from within, to your own inner voice?

And they tell you it is all your fault, that you cannot have it all. Or can you? There is partial truth to “it is your fault,” but not in the way you think. It is not that you cannot stick to the plan. You have had some success or done it before. It is not hard work or putting in more time that gives you what you want in life.

It is something sneakier and slier that you do not even realize is the reason you give up. Your need to be right is keeping you stuck.

But hold on. You are taking that the wrong way. It is the need to prove your faulty and flawed belief systems are right that is getting in your way, and she’ll offer plenty more on that during her talk.

Vickie previously addressed our group in September 2016 and was one of the most engaging speakers we’ve ever had. We are very pleased to welcome her back.

About Vickie Griffith, Our Richmond IONS February 2021 Presenter

Vickie Griffith struggled with her weight until…she stopped dieting. As a reserved, fat, unhappy teenager, she lived every day as a wall flower. Due to her lack of confidence and a low self-esteem, she was good at sabotaging any efforts to lose weight and keep it off.

That is until she lost 49+ pounds and has kept it off for over 20 years, using simple, easy to implement tools that stopped the food cravings, managed anxiety, and stopped the sabotage. She went from a ho-hum, unhappy, fat existence as a teenager to a certified hypnotist, an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) professional, a professional speaker, and a regularly featured radio and television show guest.

She is the author of Stucked UP!: A Breakthrough Path to Getting Unstuck and co-author of Life Boosts with two New York Times Best Selling Authors, plus her current book. Her infectious enthusiasm and deceptively low-key, casual approach leave a lasting impression on her audiences.

Vickie loves to travel throughout the country offering keynotes, coaching, and workshops. She, along with her husband, Terry, moved south to escape the cold Michigan winters. They settled in Virginia for 15 years.

When the winters became too cold here, they moved further south and now live in Florida with their two dogs Surrey and Kim. She jokes that she has become one of those Floridians that she used to laugh at; bundled up when it is 70 degrees outside with mittens, a coat, and a scarf.

Richmond IONS August Meeting Program

“A Model for Understanding Normal and Supernormal Capacities of Human Consciousness.”

Our August 17, 2019, program will feature a talk by Frank Pasciuti, Ph.D., Charlottesville-based licensed clinical psychologist, certified hypnotherapist and author.

In this presentation, Dr. Pasciuti will share the explanatory model he uses when working with clients in crises. It covers a broad range of human functioning, offering insight into crises that affect normal
areas of human development, as well as supernormal ones. In turn, crises arising from supernormal experiences are often referred to as spiritual emergencies.

Two Types of Crises

By comparison, normal crises can occur when someone experiences the death of a loved one, conflicts in relationships, loss of employment, or serious health concerns. On the other hand, the spiritual emergency type crises often follow a psychic or paranormal experience. Due to their rare occurrence and unfamiliar nature, their foreignness can raise fear and precipitate a crisis. For example, they can include a precognitive dream, an NDE, an out-of-body experience, or perceived contact with spirit.

In order for his model to encompass and address such a broad range of crises, Dr. Pasciuti distills the areas they impact into ten key capacities of human functioning and examines each of them. Next, he shows how in response to the spiritual crisis, the need for development in a given area can lead to an increase in its mastery. As a result, that increased mastery, in turn, contributes to the individual’s growth and transformation.

During his talk, Dr. Pasciuti will share personal stories and case examples from his just published book, Chrysalis Crisis: How Life’s Ordeals Can Lead To Personal & Spiritual Transformation. As a result, these vignettes exemplify how each of the key areas were engaged as catalysts for growth and transformation in the aftermath of a crisis.

Finally, Dr. Pasciuti will explain how all these ten key areas of human functioning can be viewed as capacities of consciousness. There, they exist on an overall map of evolving consciousness. In addition, he also explains how they can contribute to a life of joy, happiness, and peace. This is especially the case when all these areas are synergistically working.

Richmond IONS March Meeting 2019

Valerie Sargent, Richmond IONSRichmond IONS March Meeting 2019 (March 16) and Central VA IONS Community Group Meeting, Featuring a Talk by Valerie Sargent.

Where: St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, New Parish Hall, 12291 River Road, Richmond, VA 23238.

When: Saturday, March 16, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a potluck lunch at the conclusion of the program.

Richmond IONS March Meeting Program Title:

“Present Moment Guidance for the Life Experience You Desire.”

Our Richmond IONS March Meeting, on March 16, 2019, will feature a talk by Valerie Sargent, Charlottesville-based hypnotherapist, Akashic records reader, Reiki Master, and intuitive healer and artist.

Valerie had a spiritual awakening at 25 when her first husband died in a car accident in March, 1987. She felt his soul pass through her the night of his death, and her father had a dream in which her husband told him that we have nothing to fear in death.

This changed the trajectory of Valerie’s life and she began seeking, learning, assimilating and integrating everything she could about all things spiritual, including hypnotherapy and Akashic records reading.

“Akasha” derives from a Sanskrit word meaning primary substance, that from which all things are formed. Valerie is a pioneer in utilizing hypnosis as a tool for assisting clients to achieve more meaningful connections within the Akashic records, thereby extending the scope and depth of healing at the soul level, not just the ego level.

In addition to sharing her own spiritual journey, Valerie will explain how using hypnosis within the Akashic records offers a deeper and more expanded level of one’s subconscious and one’s soul history. The Akashic records, where memories of every experience are stored, are like a library where all the books are about you.

She will show how this combination increases the potential for freedom and relief from damaging, negative thought patterns and beliefs in ways that promote lasting healing.

Finally, Valerie will lead our group through an experiential hypnotic journey within the Akashic, with the intention of enhancing relaxation and healing, expanding awareness, and even tapping into a past life if we choose to do so. If journeying is of interest, don’t miss our Richmond IONS March meeting!

Richmond IONS Meeting, September 15, 2016

Featuring a talk by Vickie Griffith

“Still Stuck? Releasing Limiting Beliefs and Other Acts of Self-Sabotage.”

Vickie GriffithOur September 17, 2016 program will feature a talk by Vickie Griffith, a Florida-based hypnotherapist, emotional freedom technique (“EFT”) practitioner, author (Stucked Up! A BreakThrough Path to Unstuck), self-help and improvement coach and teacher, who formerly lived in Richmond.

Vickie describes her childhood as one in which she felt cut off from normal social interactions with others due to being overweight, a chronic problem she began trying, by the age of 10, to correct by dieting, but without success.

Change finally came for her when, as a teenager, she became fascinated with the possibility of personal transformation through the power of the mind. In college she pursued psychology courses and eventually discovered hypnosis, EFT, and, through the use of these tools, the power to transform herself.  This gave her a calling to help others do the same and she has been pursuing that calling ever since.

Here’s how Vickie describes the program in her own words: “There is no doubt we are being called to experience our present lifetimes on a higher level. Many experts agree we are moving towards a higher consciousness, beyond prescribed limitations of old cultural norms and paradigms.

Yet once we are exposed to the new era for humanity our ‘buts…’ get big. Fears and self-limiting beliefs saying ‘I can’t do that’ overshadow our movement towards freedom and peace, and we get stuck. It then seems no matter what we do we still remain stuck in old negative thoughts, destructive habits and debilitating feelings.”

Vickie will share practical energetic tools for everyday life that will help shrink and dissolve your self-negating and self-limiting beliefs (your “buts…”). You will learn which of the four self-limiting beliefs keeps you stuck, what four resistances you are using right now to excuse yourself, and easy-to-use, real-time energetic tools to release what is keeping you stuck.

If you are ready to get unstuck, find freedom and happiness and really begin to experience the higher consciousness you desire, this program is for you.

About Our Presenter:

Vickie Griffith is a certified hypnotherapist, EFT practitioner, life coach, self-help teacher and author. She has given workshops around the country, appeared numerous times as a featured guest on radio and TV talk shows and is known for her infectious enthusiasm and deceptively low-key, casual approach.

Vickie is also an adjunct professor at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and is a licensed minister. You may visit her website at www.break-through.org.

Richmond IONS Meeting, April 16, 2016

Featuring a talk by Faith Grieger

“A Door Has Opened for Humanity.”

faith griegerOur April 16 program will feature a talk by Faith Grieger, a Newton Institute-trained hypnotherapist who conducts a practice in Richmond specializing in past-life regression, Life-Between-Lives (LBL) and Quantum Consciousness (QC) explorations.

Through the exploratory journey of her own life, Faith Grieger has discovered a treasure trove of new tools for unlocking the secrets of who we are at the deepest levels, and of the eternal quest of our souls to advance creation through your lifetime and a multitude of others. She will share that journey and those discoveries with us in her April 16 talk.

Her talk will include group experiential demonstrations of hypnotherapy and regression techniques, of the landscapes, peoplescapes, worldscapes and healing potentials one may encounter in the explorations of other lifetimes, plus the rich tapestry of learning, connections with one’s own soul, spirit guides, councils of elders and more that may be encountered between lifetimes.

Faith also will introduce us to the newest session technique in her toolbox, one which merges spirituality with quantum physics known as Quantum Consciousness. Its aim is to enable exploration of additional realms or fields of consciousness that are otherwise beyond our reach, including stored consciousness (e.g. the akashic field), parallel and alternate realities and lives, interdimensional realms, and eternal consciousness.

Faith will conclude the program with a group regression in which all in attendance will be invited to participate (and share their experiences if they wish to do so). Faith’s presentation promises to be one of our most memorable and we look forward to it with great anticipation.

About Our Presenter:

Faith Grieger is a Richmond native who attended secondary school at St. Catherine’s in Richmond and Holton-Arms in Washington D.C. She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh with a B.A. in art and sociology.

After living for more than 20 years in Oregon, Florida and Asheville, North Carolina, she returned to Richmond in 2015 and opened her practice under the name of All Souls Center, at 5500 Monument Avenue, Suite T (Monument Professional Building).

Her vocational background and training includes Art, Interior Design, Feng Shui, Astrology, Massage, Reiki, Healing Touch and Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT). She is one of only 200 therapists in the world trained and certified in Life-Between-Lives (LBL) therapy at the Michael Newton  Institute and is a former Board member.

She is U.S. Program Director of Quantum Consciousness (QC), founded by Australian Peter Smith, President of the Newton Institute, and she is the only sanctioned facilitator of QC sessions in the world outside of Australia.

Richmond IONS Meeting, July 19, 2014

Featuring a Talk by Irene Kendig

“Conversations with Jerry and Other People I Thought Were Dead”

“What did you experience when you released your last breath on earth?” Thus begins each of the seven dialogs between Irene Kendig and her transitioned loved ones. In this two-hour presentation, Ms. Kendig will explore life from a spiritual perspective as she shares their answers.

But, the bigger question, and perhaps the more important one isn’t, “What happens when we die?” but rather, “What happens when we live? What happens when we live fearlessly in service to our heartfelt dreams and soul’s purpose?”

Ms. Kendig will discuss in detail how she’s applied what she learned from her loved ones on the other side so that we can all learn to eliminate unnecessary suffering, make choices in alignment with our soul’s purpose, and live a transformed life …heaven on earth…now!  What makes you come alive?

About Our Presenter:

Irene Kendig is a Soul-Centered Transformational Life Coach, speaker, and bestselling author. Her first book, Conversations with Jerry and Other People I Thought Were Dead, has been honored with seven national and international awards.

In this remarkable collection of interviews with seven loved ones who’ve died, Irene Kendig explores what happens when we transition from physical to non-physical reality. Each of the seven dialogues begins with the same question: “What did you experience when you released your last breath on earth.”

Claudia Pemperton of US Review of Books had this to say: “Author Irene Kendig strikes gold while digging for answers about life from those who have lived, died, and are now “living on.” It is impossible not to learn something about life from this book.”

Ms. Kendig facilitates clients from around the world – and locally in Charlottesville – in designing compelling, fulfilling lives by discovering and aligning with their soul’s purpose. She is gifted at facilitating the healing of trauma and the release of limiting beliefs.

She holds a B.A. cum laude in Psychology from UCLA and an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She is a certified NLP Practitioner – the study of human excellence – a certified Alchemical Hypnotherapist, and a certified Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Therapy, also known as “tapping.” Visit her website at www.irenekendig.com.
