Richmond IONS May 2023 Meeting

“Who is God? A Radical Interpretation of the Old Testament”

Our May20, 2023 program will feature a talk by Robert Bushman, Ph.D., long-standing member of IONS and applied linguist.

In the common belief of our culture, God is thought of as a person – a wise and kindly old man, with a white beard, faintly Jewish, sitting somewhere up in heaven and directing human affairs. He is supposedly all-loving, all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere present.

Furthermore, He created everything – the Earth, the Sun, the Moon, all the stars, all the plants and animals, everything. Even us!

He knows what you’ve been thinking and doing. So, when you die, He will judge whether you go to heaven or hell.

Most of us, of course, have long since out-grown such naive notions, but the question persists: Who is “God,” anyway? Is “God” actually a person, or even a being at all? And how did the God-as-person idea ever get started?

Robert’s presentation will trace the origins of this idea, of the personification of God, and the beliefs which accompanied it, back to ancient Sumer in Mesopotamia, “the cradle of civilization,” and what we find will yield some big surprises. (Robert assures it’s not intended to shake your faith, only to clear things up.)

Robert previously has given talks to our group on exopolitics and remote viewing. They were among the most informative we’ve ever had, and we know this one will be as well.

Another not-to-be-missed program for all who can attend! See you there!

“Remote Viewing – History and Process.”

Our October 19, 2019 program will feature a talk by Robert Bushman, Ph.D., retired scientific linguist. He now resides in Richmond.

Remote Viewing (RV) is an intuitive awareness of anything removed in time and place from the observer. It is a form of extra-sensory perception. The RV phenomenon has always been a natural human faculty. It has existed along a continuum of similar phenomena.  And it has been known by various names, such as clairvoyance.

The term “Remote Viewing” found its way into paranormal nomenclature nearly 50 years ago from a government-sponsored program by that name.  A physicist, Russell Targ, an engineer, Harold Puthoff, and a psychic, Ingo Swann collaborated to create it at the Stanford Research Institute in the early 1970’s.  Ingo Swann actually coined the term.

Based on the quantum physics principle that consciousness is non-local, RV protocols were developed and in turn were adopted and implemented by the US military and intelligence services. They established an RV intelligence and “psychic spy” unit at Fort Meade, Maryland. This unit  remained active from the early 1970s until at least 1996.

Remote Viewing supports the timeless spiritual teaching of non-duality. It also provides the precept of non-locality in modern quantum physics. In his presentation, Robert Bushman will review the history of the government program and describe some RV processes.

Practical Remote Viewing Exercises

Robert’s presentation will also include a practical RV exercise for the participation of all in our group. Some may be naturally more adept than others. However, this exercise will show that we all can do RV in some degree. In fact, we do it unconsciously on a routine basis. Moreover, RV is a faculty everyone can consciously develop in much the same way as learning a foreign language.

RV may be used for a wide variety of practical purposes, such as finding lost objects or people. It can also help us understand something in the past such as solve mysteries, or even predict a future event. There is no known limit on what is knowable – there are no secrets – only questions we have not yet asked.

Where: River Road Church – Baptist, 8000 River Road (NW corner of River and Ridge Roads)

Central VA IONs Community Group Program Title:

“Exopolitics in the 21st Century and Beyond.”

Exopolitics is a relatively new term referring to our relationship to those outside our planet, that is, to extraterrestrials (“ETs”). It is formally defined by the Exopolitics Institute as “…an interdisciplinary scientific field, with its roots in the political sciences, that focuses on research, education and public policy with regard to the actors, institutions and processes associated with extraterrestrial life, as well as the wide range of implications this entails through public advocacy and newly emerging paradigms.”

Robert has studied exopolitics extensively for more than a decade, attended conferences and participated in study groups on the topic. He also has interviewed experiencers and contactees, and discovered a treasure trove of little known information he will share at this meeting.

His in-depth study of this subject has opened a window of insights into a broad spectrum of human concerns and aspirations, including noetics.

Robert will explore questions such as: Are we alone? What is the evidence we are not? Who is visiting us and how long have they been visiting? What are or have they been doing? What do they want? What are they like? What can exopolitics teach us about human history, identity and potential?

Does our government have dealings and/or agreements with ETs? Why does our government not tell us about it? What is the U.S. doing in space that they are not telling us about? Are ETs involved in our current global power structure? How reliable is information on exopolitics? What are we learning from ETs and how can we make personal contact with them? What is the outlook for the future? How can I learn more about this?

These questions and more will be addressed, and this is one program you won’t want to miss if you ever spent a moment wondering about these subjects.
