Program Title: “Naturopathic Medicine: Then, Now, and Future Applications.” Our May 17, 2025 program
will feature a talk by Dr. Shruti Paskar, ND, Pawleys Island-based Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.
As described by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, Naturopathic Medicine is a medical system that has evolved from a combination of traditional practices and health care approaches popular in Europe during the 19th century. Naturopathy aims to prevent and treat disease by addressing its root cause, based on the belief that symptoms are the body’s way of signaling an underlying problem. Naturopathic medicine takes a holistic approach to healing, incorporating practices like physical activity, a well-balanced diet, and stress management, alongside other natural modalities such as herbalism, body work, hydrotherapy, and homeopathy, to correct underlying imbalances and support the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. In this talk, Dr. Shruti will share a brief history of naturopathic medicine within the context of the American medical system and discuss its evolution into the present day. She will discuss keynotes of naturopathic philosophy and her approach to holistic medicine combining these principles with her own unique experience.
Another not-to-be-missed program for all who can attend! See you there!
